Room 5 Art - Lines, Colours and Hundertwasser!

Room 5 explored lines today and how artists use different lines to make you feel different emotions. We drew what lines we felt showed that we were happy, sad, angry, noisy and quiet.

We explored the famous artist Hundertwasser who loved to use curved lines because he loved nature and he believed there were no straight lines in nature. He was also an architect so we studied some of his fascinating building designs.

Ask Room 5 students about Hundertwasseer to find out more about the colours he used and what he thought about windows.

Room 5 have been designing their own Hundertwasser inspired art ... Can't wait to see them when they are finished...

Caleb - Longest Place Name

Wow Caleb must have been inspired by Kahn's hard word in pronouncing the longest place name in the world because he must have practised all weekend to get this good...

Listen to Kahn pronounce the longest place name in the world. Tumeke Kahn!
Room 5 were super impressed.

Room 5: Te Wiki o te Reo Maori Challenge #4

This is one of the things Room 5 did during Te Wiki o te Maori!
We hope these signs will help people pronounce Maori place names correctly!

We have tried to make it easier for people who come to New Zealand from other countries to pronounce Maori place names correctly.

Mrs Torrie set us the challenge of doing this for Awapuni, Turanganui-A-Kiwa and Waikanae.
Thanks for the challenge Mrs Torrie!
